Chasetown Community School is seeking to appoint an inspiring, professional and motivated teaching assistant who is dedicated to the ongoing academic, behavioural and personal development of young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. The role involves working as a class TA and providing occasional cover for the Teacher. Candidates need to be physically and emotionally resilient, experienced in behaviour management, and able to inspire and engage young people in KS2 and KS3.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils’ access to learning using appropriate strategies, resources, and activities under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Working with other staff in planning, evaluating, and adjusting learning activities as appropriate.
  • Monitoring and evaluating pupils’ responses and progress against action plans through observation and planned recording.
  • Providing objective and accurate feedback and reports as required to other staff on pupils’ achievement, progress, and other matters.
  • Keeping and updating records as agreed with the class teacher, contributing to reviews of systems/records as requested.
  • Working with young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, with a good knowledge of SEND and safeguarding legislation.
