Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is proud to offer pupils across the borough a great range of delicious, healthy meals, using locally sourced, high quality ingredients. We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join our friendly and supportive catering team at Monkspath Primary School, 5 Farmhouse Way, Shirley, Solihull B90 4EH. £24,413 - £24,796 pro rata, per annum. Working 10 hours a week, Monday - Friday, Term Time only.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with serving healthy award-winning meals.
  • Basic food preparation.
  • Prepare counters and the dining room for service.
  • Operate the cashless till system.
  • Perform cleaning duties.
  • Maintain hygiene levels within the kitchen.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Food Safety qualification or willingness to complete and pass within first 12 months of service.
  • Experience delivering excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, enthusiasm and self‑motivation.

Additional Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS check with a barred list check for working with children.
  • Fluency Duty – meet Code of Practice on English language requirements for public sector workers.
