Role purpose
We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Officer to join our Adult and Community Learning team within Stoke-on-Trent City Council. You’ll play a vital role in supporting adult learners with additional learning needs or disabilities, helping to remove barriers and ensure everyone can fully participate in learning. From reading and scribing in class to providing one-to-one encouragement, you’ll make a real difference to learners’ confidence, independence, and success.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
- Provide reading and scribing assistance in class
- Provide one-to-one encouragement to learners
- Contribute to promoting inclusion, safeguarding, and equality
Qualifications and experience
- Experience of supporting individuals with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
- A clear, accurate approach to written and verbal communication
- Strong teamwork and record-keeping skills
- An understanding of reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act 2010
- A genuine commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and equality
