Overview

Post: Care Assistant – Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council (8 permanent posts available). Location: Tiled House, 200 Tiled House Lane, Pensnett, Brierley Hill, DY5 4LE. Salary: Grade 4 £12.85 to £13.05 per hour. Hours of work: various contracts including 28, 27, 26, 23, 21, and 19.5 hours per week. Shifts typically 7:30am to 9:30pm on a set rota, including alternate weekends and bank holidays with enhancements.

Excellent opportunities to work within Dudley Council’s Assessment and Independence team at Tiled House Intermediate Care Service, an integrated care facility with Health professionals on site.

The role

We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate and caring people with a genuine desire to support vulnerable adults at Tiled House and enable them to lead as independently as possible. The role involves working with service users in crisis or following hospital admission to ensure they receive appropriate support. You will plan and provide person-centred care that promotes respect, dignity and personalisation. You may help with physical and personal tasks and, where required, the administration of medication. You will be an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, and you will work as part of a team.

Relevant mandatory training is provided during induction, including online training.

Contract and duties

Care Assistants work on a set rota that includes alternative weekends and bank holidays. Hours and patterns vary by rota.

Requirements and conditions

  • Right to work in the UK. The council does not offer sponsorship.
  • Subject to medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check.
  • Must be able to provide documentation proving right to work in the UK.
