Stafford Borough & Cannock Chase District Councils are looking for two Tree Officers, one based at Cannock and one based at Stafford.
Grade H: £37,280 – £40,777 per annum (pay award pending)

With over 1,300 trees per officer, 45 conservation areas, and 80,000 trees covering an area of 261 square miles, we have a unique opportunity for tree professionals in a number of roles. Successful candidates will be able to stamp their own mark on this new shared service between Cannock Chase District and Stafford Borough Councils. We are looking for passionate and ambitious officers to drive this service forward. The area combines rural and urban environments, nature conservation, SSSIs and local nature reserves, all set against the Cannock Chase National Landscape, offering challenging work in a beautiful setting.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Level 3 in Arboriculture, preferably an extended Diploma.
- Experience in tree surveying and management.
- Experience dealing with a wide range of tree management issues from an urban forest, or ability to undertake planning‑related advice or manage trees covered by TPOs or in conservation areas. If you have not dealt with these areas before training will be given.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
