Ormiston Forge Academy is seeking a Pastoral Support Officer to champion positive behaviour, attendance, and student wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Promote excellent attendance and punctuality by working closely with students and families.
  • Act as the first point of contact for day‑to‑day pastoral concerns.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, carers and staff.
  • Support behaviour management across the academy, including proactive supervision and incident response.
  • Conduct investigations following behaviour incidents and provide reports to Heads of Year and Senior Leaders.
  • Assist with academy‑wide interventions, safeguarding referrals and wellbeing initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must have achieved at least GCSE grade A*—C (or equivalent) passes in maths and English.
  • First aid training is required if an appropriate qualification is not already held.

  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Experience working with young people in an educational or pastoral setting (desirable).
  • The ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and discretion.
