Ormiston Forge Academy is seeking a Pastoral Support Officer to champion positive behaviour, attendance, and student wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Promote excellent attendance and punctuality by working closely with students and families.
- Act as the first point of contact for day‑to‑day pastoral concerns.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, carers and staff.
- Support behaviour management across the academy, including proactive supervision and incident response.
- Conduct investigations following behaviour incidents and provide reports to Heads of Year and Senior Leaders.
- Assist with academy‑wide interventions, safeguarding referrals and wellbeing initiatives.
Qualifications
- Applicants must have achieved at least GCSE grade A*—C (or equivalent) passes in maths and English.
- First aid training is required if an appropriate qualification is not already held.

- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience working with young people in an educational or pastoral setting (desirable).
- The ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and discretion.
