Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council’s Sandwell Museum Service is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Museum Technician to support all aspects of the technical and practical operation of our museum sites and deliver a high standard of customer care and public service to visitors of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Organise and deliver exciting displays and activities to visitors, users, and the local community.
  • Realise team ideas with regards to designing, preparing, constructing, assembling and installing permanent and temporary displays and bespoke and interactive activities.
  • Operate and maintain tools.
  • Safely handle, clean, pack, and transport museum artefacts.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed, conduct risk assessments, and support COSHH compliance.
  • Support the running and maintenance of busy heritage attractions and community spaces.
  • Work flexible hours, including regular weekends, bank holidays and evenings.

Hours: 37 hours per week on a flexible rota including regular weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
