Ormiston Forge Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced, confident, caring and organised person to join our team in the role of Medical Officer. This role will require applicants to assess the medical and welfare needs of students and staff, and administer front-line First Aid. The position also includes other administrative duties in support of the wider school.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the medical and welfare needs of students and staff
  • Administer front-line First Aid
  • Ensure pupils with ongoing medical needs are supported in school in line with their Individual Health Care Plans
  • Administer approved medication to students and maintain records and reports, including those for statutory requirements
  • Contribute to other administrative duties in support of the wider school

Qualifications

  • Minimum GCSE Grade A*-C (or equivalent) passes in maths and English
  • Full First Aid qualification and preferably medicines administration qualification
  • Relevant experience of working in a school environment is desirable but not essential
