Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking to recruit an experienced and passionate Business Support Officer for the Dudley School Attendance & Education Support Service. This role involves providing professional administrative, clerical, and IT support to assist with the delivery of the service, which focuses on:
- Children Missing from education
- Children Electively Home Educated
- Children failing to attend school regularly
The School Attendance & Education Support Service provides the Local Authority's statutory function in relation to legal action for non-school attendance. Responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative support for issuing penalty fines
- Monitoring payment processes and systems
Key requirements for the role include:
- A good telephone manner
- The ability to deal calmly and confidently with customers and clients in stressful situations
- Maintaining complex data recording systems
- Supporting a team of Officers in their daily duties
