City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking a committed and experienced Business Support Administrator to join the Business Support team working within our Safeguarding Admin Services. This team will provide high-quality, customer focused support to a range of Council services.

Position details

  • Role: Business Support Administrator
  • Team: Business Support Unit – Children’s
  • Grade: 4: £13,201-£14,071
  • Hours: 18.5 Hours Part Time Permanent Position
  • Working style: Working from any location across the city, supporting in Families hub as well as some working from home in line with business needs

The post holder will be a key member of the Children’s Business Support Team and is expected to work flexibly to ensure that high quality support is always provided, enabling Council services to function effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and reconciling financial transactions and supporting preparation of budget information
  • Maintaining accurate records and inputting data onto relevant databases
  • Preparing for and minuting meetings and events as required
  • Ordering goods and resources through Agresso and p-card purchasing
  • Responding to enquiries and complaints from staff and members of the public in line with agreed procedures
  • Managing post (electronic and physical) that comes into the Children’s Team
  • Working within various locations across the city as required by the business needs
  • Providing Families Hub front of house meeting and greeting residents of the city to gain access to support services

Requirements

  • The successful candidate will be innovative, proactive and organised with great attention to detail
  • You will need strong communication and IT skills, the ability to build strong relationships and learn quickly

Additional information

This position may be subject to DBS check and a requirement to undertake Health and Safety training and Fire Marshall duties.
