Horninglow Bungalows is a supported living complex for adults with learning disabilities, currently has a vacancy for a 22hr Support Facilitator post.
Candidates are required to have a positive proactive approach and a desire to make a positive difference to the lives of individuals with learning disabilities.
Candidates need to be available to cover morning and afternoon shifts, plus weekends and bank holiday. For this they receive an increment of 10.6%.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintaining dignity and supporting with intimate/personal care
- Following dietary care plans and supporting individuals with eating and drinking
- Supporting with manual handling of people
- Supporting with positive behavioural support and safety intervention
- Supporting individuals in the community
- Supporting individuals to be actively involved in their care
- Providing and facilitating activities for the individuals requiring support
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for people who are passionate about providing outstanding care quality for adults with learning disabilities. Our aspirations are to receive an ‘outstanding’ rating with the CQC, and we are looking for someone who shares our values, ambitions and vision.
What you will bring
- Be enthusiastic about working with people with learning disabilities and autism
- Be caring, sensitive and patient while supporting people to be as independent as possible
- ICT skills to complete digital record keeping
- Have effective communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage potential and actual aggression in a sensitive way and remain calm in challenging situations
- Willing and physically able to support people with personal and intimate care needs and undertake manual handling tasks
- A positive outlook on life and able to adapt and respond positively to change
If you already hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification or a Care Certificate we would love to hear from you but don’t worry if you do not – we are happy to support you in gaining the skills and knowledge needed for this qualification.
