Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent person‑centred support in an innovative, flexible, responsive, and strengths‑based manner.
  • Act as a Link Worker, contributing to the ongoing assessment, development, delivery, and review of person‑centred support plans.
  • Administer medication and support with personal care.
  • Provide manual handling, including use of equipment, physical intervention skills, and active participation in person‑centred activities.
  • Plan and deliver community outings and activities, including sensory sessions.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Current driving licence and access to a vehicle, or proven ability to access all areas of your local community using public transport.
  • Enthusiasm for working with people with learning disabilities and autism.
  • Caring, sensitive, and patient, supporting people to be as independent as possible.
  • ICT skills to complete digital record keeping.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage potential and actual aggression sensitively and remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Willing and physically able to support people with personal and intimate care needs and undertake manual handling tasks.
  • A positive outlook on life and ability to adapt and respond positively to change.

NVQ Level 2 or Care Certificate is desirable; we will support you in gaining the necessary qualifications if you do not hold one currently. The role requires an enhanced DBS check and a pre‑employment health assessment as part of the onboarding process. Due to recent legislation (effective 22 July 2025), this role is not eligible for sponsorship.
