An opportunity has arisen for a full time permanent Surveyor within the Disrepair Team. This is a chance to make a difference within the Directorate, ensuring that we remain compliant within the handling of Disrepair Claims and legal regulatory standards within the sector whilst ensuring that cost savings are kept to a minimum for the business.
The role will cover a variety of duties and will include the handling of solicitor claims made by tenants within the Housing Repairs Team. You will work as part of a small team with some but not exclusive to the duties listed below. Disrepair is a very busy environment and you would need to be self-motivated, committed and able to work to very tight deadlines under pressure. You will need to hold a valid qualification within repairs & maintenance and have an excellent understanding of repair work within tenanted properties. Working within the disrepair sector would be advantageous but training can be provided.
Some of the duties will include:
- Liaising with team members, customers, contractors and senior management team on a daily basis.
- Site visits to assess works required in order to handle the claim.
- Reporting of detailed Scott Schedules for every property as well as completing a schedule of works. There are days when admin work is vital to ensure the claims are turned around in an acceptable timeframe.
