Chadsgrove School is a nurturing and inclusive special educational school dedicated to supporting children and young people aged 2-19 with complex health needs, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and other medical conditions. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, stimulating, and caring environment where every pupil can thrive.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Interventions Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team. This role is vital in supporting pupils with complex medical needs, ensuring their health and wellbeing throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with medical procedures such as but not limited to gastrostomy feeding, catheter care, and administration of medication (training provided)
- Monitor pupils’ health and respond appropriately to medical needs
- Work closely with nursing staff, therapists, and teaching teams to ensure holistic care
- Support pupils in accessing learning and social activities safely both within the curriculum and during out of hours care such as playschemes and after school clubs
- Maintain accurate records of medical interventions and incidents
- Promote dignity, independence, and inclusion for all pupils
- Experience working with children or young people with medical needs (desirable but not essential)
- Willingness to undertake training in medical procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
