Malvern Hills and Wychavon District Councils are offering a 12-month fixed term contract for a Civil Enforcement Officer, working 15 hours per week with Bank Holiday working on a rota basis. The shifts are from 1pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with a salary range of £11,593.78 - £12,576.49 per annum (FTE £28,598 to £31,022 - pay award pending).
Duties of a Civil Enforcement Officer include:
- Issuing penalty charge notices to vehicles parked in contravention of the Traffic Regulation Orders for On-Street locations and in Off-Street car parks in the Bromsgrove district.
- Patrolling local areas to maintain good traffic flow.
- Undertaking ticket machine checks and assisting people in the community to use our facilities.
- Regularly assisting customers at Bromsgrove Shopmobility.
About You:
- Have a good standard of education with qualifications in English and Mathematics.
- Be highly motivated with good interpersonal skills and able to handle sensitive (and sometimes confrontational) situations confidently and calmly in a professional manner.
- Have good communication skills and an ability to work on your own initiative.
- Be able to travel and patrol around the Bromsgrove district including the outlying villages; essential, and you will need to have access to and use of a vehicle to carry out these patrols (business use insurance for your vehicle will be required).
- Be able to work outside alone in all weathers and walk for long periods, up to 5 hours per shift.
- Have experience in a similar role or in customer service, retail, and hospitality.
