Bromsgrove and Redditch Councils, situated in North Worcestershire, share services. The Councils are committed to being a customer-driven organisation, with our customers at the heart of everything we do; focused on improving delivery services that make a difference to the community that we serve.

You will be joining our new mobile caretaking service working across Housing Services and Property Services, within Redditch Borough Council's social housing stock. You will be responsible for the day-to-day caretaking service of our estates, blocks, and schemes, establishing a close working relationship with the community. As a Caretaker, you will ensure our properties and surrounding areas remain clean, tidy, safe, secure, and in good condition, both by direct action and by monitoring of estate services provided by colleagues and contractors. We are looking for an individual who is flexible, approachable, and comfortable working in a team environment and is passionate about delivering a high-quality caretaking service to our customers.

Key Requirements

  • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained at properties with internal communal areas as defined on agreed specifications and service standards.
  • Sweep, clean & mop all internal areas, including windows where accessible, and clean out bin stores and ensure bins are ready for collection as necessary.
  • Undertake monthly Health and Safety Inspections of communal areas and ensure all appropriate records of doing so are kept in an appropriate and prescribed manner.
  • Undertake regular Fire Safety checks in communal areas including Fire alarm user checks, Emergency and general light checks, Fire/general communal door/door entry and security checks.
  • Undertake regular legionella testing in communal areas.

Skills & Experience

  • Cleaning or caretaking experience.
  • Full and current driving licence.
