About The Role
Required from 1st November or as soon as possible. Parkside Middle School is seeking an exceptional Associate Assistant Headteacher with responsibility as SENDCo to join our senior leadership team. This is a central strategic role as part of our commitment to ensure every pupil—including those with the most complex needs—receives an ambitious, personalised, and high‑quality education. We are looking for an inspiring leader who can champion inclusion, empower staff, and drive whole‑school improvement with passion and purpose. The role is focused on inclusive education and aligned with the principles of the SEND Code of Practice (2015). Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the school and within our new Mainstream Autism Base.
- Oversee identification, assessment, and monitoring of pupils with SEND through the Assess, Plan, Do, Review Cycle.
- Ensure statutory compliance, including EHCP processes and annual reviews.
- Line‑manage and develop the SEND team, including Assistant SENDCo and Learning Support Assistants and specialist staff.
- In collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team, drive high‑quality adaptive teaching and inclusive practice across all subjects.
- Work with the Senior Leadership Team to lead whole‑school professional development on SEND and inclusion.
- Work closely with families, external agencies, and governors.
- Contribute to wider school leadership, improvement planning, and safeguarding.
