Dudley Countryside Service is seeking two enthusiastic Assistant Wardens to become part of our progressive and passionate team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-established service dedicated to the care and enhancement of Dudley’s diverse network of nature reserves. Our reserves are rich in wildlife, geology, and heritage, forming an integral part of the UNESCO Black Country Geopark.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage National and Local Nature Reserves, protect geological exposures, conserve historic landscapes, and improve Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs).
  • Support and inspire volunteers, helping to deliver meaningful conservation projects across the borough.
  • Plan and facilitate outdoor education and community events to promote Dudley’s countryside to visitors.
  • Collaborate closely with volunteers, students and trainees.

Qualifications:

  • Experience or a strong interest in the environmental sector, with a passion for nature conservation and community engagement.
  • Understanding of outdoor education and events.
  • Experience working with volunteers, students, or trainees is desirable.
  • A suitable start for someone at the beginning of a conservation career.

Location: Dudley, West Midlands, United Kingdom
