West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA),

Major transport and infrastructure schemes are transforming the West Midlands, but they also bring challenges for the people and communities who rely on the network every day. We're looking for a Travel Demand Management (TDM) Schemes Officer to help minimise disruption, improve the customer experience and ensure people can continue to travel safely and efficiently while these projects are delivered.

Working as part of our collaborative and driven Network Resilience team, you'll support the planning and delivery of travel demand management and mitigation activities across a range of high-profile projects, including HS2, Sprint and other major engineering and infrastructure schemes. You'll work with local authorities, transport operators, national agencies and internal teams to develop practical solutions that reduce disruption and improve journey reliability.

This is a varied role that combines project coordination, stakeholder engagement and data-driven decision making. You'll translate transport planning information, modelling outputs and scheme intelligence into practical actions, coordinate partners, monitor progress and ensure the right mitigation measures are in place to support communities and businesses affected by planned works.

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and customer-focused, with excellent communication and collaboration skills. You'll be confident managing multiple priorities, building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and working as part of a team to solve problems.

If you're looking for a role where your work will directly contribute to the development of the West Midlands and the experience of those who travel across it, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Collaborate with behaviour change teams to deliver and sustain interventions for long‑term congestion reduction
  • Analyse and interpret complex data sets
  • Negotiate and influence stakeholders and scheme sponsors to secure funding contributions

What’s Essential

  • Experience of developing or supporting the delivery of strategies to keep the region moving
  • Experience of mobilising funded programmes and/or projects
  • Experience of managing programmes and/or projects
