Teacher of Art & Design (Maternity Cover)
Location: Cockshut Hill School, Birmingham, England, United Kingdom.
Contract: Part‑time (0.6) maternity cover from April 2026 to March 2027, working days Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
About the Role: The successful candidate will inspire students to achieve excellent results, work collaboratively with friendly, thriving teams, and support the school’s journey of improvement. Ability to teach Art and Design technology across KS3 and KS4 is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the professional duties reasonably requested by the Principal.
- Be a consistently good and often outstanding teacher meeting the relevant personal professional standards.
- Act as a role‑model for students and staff, representing the school in line with its ethos and values.
- Ensure that all work with students underpins and promotes the school’s ethos and values.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all students.
About You
- Evidence of commitment to continuing personal development and ability to keep students making excellent progress.
- Successful and relevant secondary teaching experience.
- Clear understanding and detailed knowledge of current curriculum, assessment requirements and developments.
- Proven ability to manage behaviour within the classroom and across the school.
- Knowledge of safeguarding regulations and ability to address issues.
