About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Housing specialist with strong technical expertise in NEC Housing and associated systems. This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting and evolving Birmingham City Council’s critical Housing and Property applications, working closely with both technical and functional teams to deliver reliable, high-quality digital services.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide practitioner-level application support for Housing and Property systems, including NEC Housing, Civica DM360 and associated platforms.
- Diagnose and resolve complex application and integration issues, ensuring system stability, performance, and resilience.
- Support and maintain integrations between systems, including batch processing, data flows, and interface management.
- Lead on troubleshooting high-impact incidents and act as a point of escalation within the team.
- Contribute to application upgrades, configuration changes, and continuous service improvement activities.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, suppliers, and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Support the development of internal capability by sharing knowledge and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
- Ensure applications meet security, data protection, and audit requirements.
Who Should Apply

- Strong hands‑on SQL experience, including scripting, reporting, and data analysis.
- Experience supporting integrated application landscapes, including troubleshooting interfaces and data flows.
- Experience working with document management or workflow systems such as Civica DM360.
- Ability to resolve complex technical issues and identify root causes in a live support environment.
- Experience working with business stakeholders and translating requirements into practical solutions.
- Able to work independently, prioritise effectively, and operate in a high-pressure environment.
