Position Details

  • School Cleaner – 2 posts available
  • Salary: Grade A, SCP 3 £24,796 p.a. Actual approximate salary £7,797 – £7,893 p.a.
  • Hours: 12.5 hours per week, all year round (52 weeks). Mon–Fri 3:30pm–6:00pm during term time. During school holidays, working times may vary.
  • Start date: As soon as possible.
  • Closing date: Wednesday 17th June 2026 at 12:00 noon.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for cleaning designated areas of the school to the required standard, including classrooms, corridors, and communal areas, as directed by the Supervisor, helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children.
  • Regulated activity – enhanced DBS check required, including check of Children’s Barred List.
  • Exempt from Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 – subject to enhanced DBS check.
  • Must complete a self‑declaration of criminal record or other information that would make them unsuitable to work with children.
  • In line with KCSIE, online search will be conducted on all shortlisted candidates.
  • Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) – ability to speak fluent spoken English is essential.
  • Provide two suitable references.

Probationary Period: 26 weeks.
