West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) invites applications from students currently studying towards a degree in Surveying, Real Estate, Property Management or Law for an eight‑week Summer Internship. This role offers practical experience in property portfolio management and regeneration across the West Midlands, working alongside experienced professionals in the Property & Strategic Assets Team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Review leases, licences and other property documents to extract and record key information.
- Support the implementation of a new Property Asset Management System.
- Assist surveyors with a variety of property and asset management activities.
- Help maintain accurate property records, databases and documentation.
- Support meetings, workshops and team activities.
- Respond to routine enquiries from colleagues and stakeholders.
- Develop analytical, communication and problem‑solving skills through real work experience.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation while building a professional network.
What We're Looking For
- Currently studying towards a degree in Surveying or Law.
- Curious, enthusiastic and eager to learn.
- Organised, accurate and detail‑focused.
- Comfortable working with information and analysing data.
- Strong communicators with good written and verbal skills.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Able to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
