Birmingham City Council, Planning Department is seeking a Principal Planning Officer for a permanent position at Grade D: £45,091 – £53,460. The role involves working 36.5 hours per week.
These are exciting times to be working at Birmingham, one of the largest, youngest and most diverse Local Planning Authorities in the country. As set out in its bold vision “Our Future City”, the City is experiencing significant employment, housing, and retail growth, which needs to be balanced against protecting the City’s natural and built assets.
The planning team is at the centre of this ambitious growth programme that will transform lives, and we are seeking talented and driven people to deliver it. Principal Development Management Planners are required to guide some of the biggest and most strategic schemes the city has, ensuring a consistent and equitable approach to decision making. The role is fast-paced and requires excellent negotiation and organisational skills alongside a desire to deliver the best quality outcomes for the citizens of Birmingham and the wider region.
