Birmingham City Council – Birmingham Library Marketing & Communications Officer

Working hours: 36.5 hours per week

Birmingham Adult Education Service (BAES) is seeking an experienced and creative Marketing & Communications Officer to lead the delivery and development of our communications activity.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and delivery of multi‑channel marketing and communications campaigns
  • Develop clear, audience‑focused messaging that supports strategic objectives
  • Provide expert advice and challenge to colleagues on effective communication approaches
  • Create and develop content across digital platforms, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Use insight, data and evaluation to continuously improve performance and reach
Qualifications
  • Demonstrate strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to shape narratives for a wide range of audiences
  • Have proven experience delivering integrated communications across digital and offline channels
  • Be confident working with and influencing stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders
  • Show strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
  • Take an analytical, insight‑led approach to improving engagement and campaign performance
  • Bring creativity, curiosity and a drive to innovate
