Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking a Kinship Fostering Team Manager to make a positive difference in the lives of children and families. This role involves leading a dedicated team within the Fostering Service, focusing on kinship care and supporting foster carers.

The Kinship Team provides supervision and support to kinship foster carers following their approval through the Foster Panel. You will report to the Head of Service for Fostering Support and manage a team of four staff members, ensuring high-quality assessments and support for kinship carers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a child-centred service that complies with all relevant legal, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to social workers and senior practitioners.
  • Effectively manage allocated resources to deliver the aims and objectives of Birmingham Children’s Trust.

About You:

You will have a strong understanding of fostering legislation and experience within a fostering service. A commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people is essential, along with effective leadership skills.

You will be responsible for quality assuring practice across the team and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, you will lead on key areas such as the growth of the Mockingbird programme and initiatives to strengthen the recruitment and support of foster carers.
