Forestdale Primary School invites applications for the post of Head Teacher at Forestdale Primary School, Wareham Road, Frankley, Birmingham, B45 0JS. The vacancy arises upon the retirement of the current headteacher at the end of the Summer Term 2026.

Forestdale Primary School is a 1 form-entry community school with nursery provision for pupils aged 3 to 11 years, currently with 202 pupils on roll. When last inspected by OFSTED the school was judged to be good. The governing body is seeking an inspirational and dedicated headteacher with strong leadership and interpersonal skills to lead an excellent teaching staff and our lovely, courteous and friendly children. This is an exciting time to join Forestdale as we prepare to move to a brand-new, purpose-built site at Easter 2027, 1 mile from current location. Our vision for our pupils is they achieve their full potential within a nurturing school community to become successful throughout life, underpinned by our values – believe, aspire, excel.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Put children at the centre of everything they do; be a strong, approachable and supportive leader.
  • Be passionate and knowledgeable about the pursuit of teaching and learning.
  • Build on what is currently excellent and ensure continued improvement; embrace opportunities and challenges offered by Forestdale.

The successful candidate will be expected to take up the appointment at the beginning of the Autumn Term 2026. Visits to the school are strongly encouraged.
