32.5 hours per week – Term Time Only – Permanent (Working Pattern: Monday – Friday). Other working patterns may be considered.
Salary: £20,569 – £23,186 (Actual Salary Inc. SEN Allowance of £1,507 FTE)
This position requires an individual who is patient, proactive, and passionate about providing a bespoke education for children with autism and other special educational needs.
Responsibilities and Role OverviewAs a Teaching Assistant you will support pupils with cognition and communication difficulties and Autism, applying a sensory and trauma‑informed approach, personalised communication strategies, and creative technology to facilitate learning and communication. You will assist with lesson delivery, follow key pieces of information such as Positive Behaviour Management Plans, Sensory Difference Profiles, Individual Pupil Risk Assessments, Pupil Profiles and Transition Guidance, and support pupil progress.
Successful candidates will need to demonstrate:- A desire to work with pupils on the autistic spectrum.
- A willingness to learn more about Autism and other diagnosed Special Educational Needs.
- Ability to follow and implement key pieces of information relating to pupils, such as Positive Behaviour Management Plans, Sensory Differences Profiles, Individual Pupil Risk Assessments, Pupil Profiles and Transition Guidance.
- Flexibility to the needs of the school with an “I can do” attitude.
- The ability to work using their own initiative and effectively as part of a team.
- Effective clear communication with pupils and colleagues.
- The desire to take ownership of tasks.
