Are you excited by the idea of bringing vibrant, high-quality events to Birmingham’s parks? We’re looking for an organised and proactive Event Officer to play a key role in supporting the delivery of a dynamic and growing events programme across our destination sites.
Responsibilities
You will work closely with Destination Site Managers and park teams to review event applications, assess site suitability, and ensure proposals meet all necessary requirements. You’ll be at the centre of the process, helping to turn ideas into successful events that enhance our parks and attract visitors from across the city and beyond. Collaborating with the Council’s central events team, you’ll support efficient processing of applications through the Council’s events portal, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for organisers. Your attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities will be key to keeping the pipeline of events moving.

Qualifications and Experience
- Knowledge or qualifications in event management or a related field
- Proven track record of planning and delivering successful public events
- Experience managing event budgets and financial reporting
- Understanding of compliance, health and safety standards, and risk management for events
- Excellent organisational and project‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage confidently with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in IT tools including word processing, spreadsheets, and event‑management software
- Creativity in designing events that attract wide participation while meeting income targets
