West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is looking for an Enterprise Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you’ll connect schools, colleges, training providers and employers, providing young people with the skills, knowledge, and experiences they need to make confident, informed decisions about their futures. This position is part of the Birmingham Careers Hub and the wider WMCA Careers Hub network, working on a fixed‑term basis until 31st August 2026.
Responsibilities
- Support schools and colleges in developing their Careers Provision, connecting them with employers and Enterprise Advisers (EAs).
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders in education, including governors.
- Facilitate partnerships between schools, colleges, employers, and other stakeholders to improve career outcomes for young people.
- Drive progress using frameworks such as the Gatsby Benchmarks and the Careers Impact System.
- Monitor and evaluate careers programmes to ensure quality and impact.
- Represent the Careers Hub at networking events and through stakeholder engagement.
- Deliver training and share best practices with the education and business communities.
- Recruit, train, and support a diverse network of Enterprise Advisers (EAs) (Business Volunteers), matching them with schools and colleges to address their specific needs.
Qualifications
- A proven track record of working with schools, colleges, and employers.
- Experience in stakeholder management and communication, ideally in education or careers.
- Experience supporting schools and colleges to implement the Gatsby Benchmarks Framework.
- A strong understanding of the challenges schools and colleges face in delivering careers education.
- Knowledge of national and local policies relating to skills and employment.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Digital literacy and confidence using IT and social media to amplify impact.
- GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/Level 4 or above).
Location
Summer Lane; the role requires at least 2 days a week spent at the office.

We advertise salary ranges, with new appointments typically starting at the lowest salary point. In exceptional cases, the salary point may be adjusted to secure the best candidate.
