Birmingham City Council is a Living Wage Employer and all our roles will be paid at or above the Living Wage where the pay scales fall below that rate. Working 15 hrs per week (pro‑rata/term‑time only) including 3 cleaning days in school holidays and 5 Inset days. We serve fresh, nutritious meals to pupils across Birmingham, working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment that values community and well‑being.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and cooking meals for pupils.
  • Supporting all aspects of kitchen service.
  • Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy.
  • Setting up the dining room and furniture.
  • Attending training sessions (online and classroom).
  • Being mindful of dietary and allergen needs.

Qualifications:

  • Food Safety Level 2 Certificate (valid).
  • Allergy Awareness Certificate (valid).

We are looking for warm, reliable team players with a passion for food and excellent customer service. Good communication skills and a "can do" attitude are essential. Experience in a similar environment is a bonus but enthusiasm and commitment matter most.
