This is an exciting opportunity to join the Business Support Services function at Birmingham City Council. We are recruiting a highly organised and proactive individual to manage a team and deliver high‑quality, responsive and fit‑for‑purpose business support within the Strategy, Insight & Governance Directorate. The role requires building strong relationships across the Directorate and wider services, understanding business needs and driving service improvements with creativity and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the business support team, ensuring delivery of responsive, fit‑for‑purpose services.
- Oversee line management, performance, supervisions and sickness of staff.
- Ensure compliance with governance, FOI and SARs while identifying opportunities to modernise and digitalise processes.
- Build strong relationships across the Directorate and wider services, understand business needs and drive service improvements.
- Provide practical solutions that improve service delivery and add value, and contribute fresh ideas to shape the future of business support.
