As Assistant OD Partner (Culture), you will help bring that ambition to life by supporting the delivery of organisational development, learning, engagement and culture initiatives across WMCA.
From coordinating learning content and culture programmes to supporting engagement campaigns, new starter inductions, employee networks and data reporting, your work will help ensure our people experience is inclusive, well organised and continuously improving.
This is a 6-month fixed‑term contract.
What You’ll Be Doing.
- Support the delivery of inclusive organisational development, learning, engagement and culture initiatives aligned to WMCA’s People & Culture Strategy, values and behaviours.
- Coordinate learning and OD programmes, culture activity and engagement campaigns, including logistics, accessibility, learning content, digital materials and internal communications.
- Support new starter inductions and the wider onboarding experience, working closely with the HR Service Centre and coordinating engagement with senior leaders.
- Work collaboratively across OD, Learning, Inclusion, employee networks and wider People & Culture teams to promote inclusive practice and joined‑up delivery.
- Collect, analyse and report on learning, engagement and culture data, including feedback, evaluations and dashboards, using insight to identify risks, gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the development and promotion of learning, coaching and mentoring activity, including e‑learning modules, guides, toolkits and other development resources.
- Assist with workshops, events, networking and team development activity, while providing practical guidance to colleagues on OD and learning‑related queries.
- Support effective programme delivery through appropriate use of resources and third‑party suppliers, helping ensure value for money and continuous improvement.
What’s Essential.
- Experience supporting the delivery of learning, organisational development, engagement or culture programmes within a complex organisation.
- Good understanding of current OD, HR, EDI and organisational culture practices, including how values, inclusion and behavioural frameworks can be embedded in day‑to‑day working.
- Experience working with data and digital systems, such as a Learning Management System, with the ability to analyse and report on learning, engagement or culture information.
- Strong coordination and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, senior stakeholders and external partners.
- A pragmatic, adaptable and solution‑focused approach, with confidence working collaboratively across teams and in areas of ambiguity.
- Understanding of learning evaluation and the ability to consider impact and return on investment when supporting inclusive OD and learning interventions.
- Qualification to at least Level 3 in an OD or L&D professional‑related field, with evidence of continuing professional development.
Location.
The location for this role is 16 Summer Lane, Birmingham, B19 3SD with at least 2 days a week spent in the office.

We advertise salary ranges, with new appointments typically starting at the lowest salary point.
