Woodhouse Academy is a successful Middle School of over 400 pupils, set in a semi-rural location on the outskirts of Biddulph, Staffordshire. The school runs a secondary style timetable and subjects are taught by specialist teachers throughout – from Year 5 to Year 8. Pupils enjoy coming to school, are enthusiastic about learning and are challenged to achieve their best.
We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Principal to join our Senior Leadership Team. The Assistant Principal is a senior leader responsible for driving high standards of educational provision, pupil outcomes and colleague development across the Academy. Working in close partnership with the Principal, the Assistant Principal will provide strategic and operational leadership in a defined area of whole‑school improvement while modelling excellent classroom practice.
The postholder will play a key role in shaping the academy’s vision, ethos and strategic direction: ensuring that all pupils, particularly those who are disadvantaged or have additional needs, receive a high‑quality, inclusive education.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This position is subject to a criminal records check from the Disclosure & Barring Service including a Children’s Barred List check which will require you to disclose all criminal convictions. Pre‑employment checks will be carried out in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education.
