A fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner to join Entrust's Education Improvement Services Staffordshire based team. As a Behaviour Consultant, you will provide Special Educational Needs & Disabilities support, advice, and challenge to maintained schools and academies particularly in the area of SEMH. This role provides specialist advice to the schools and academies that we work with alongside working with students who need additional assessments and support.

You will be working with a team of highly motivated and professional school improvement advisers and in your specialist area you will provide advice and guidance to schools and secure the highest levels of customer satisfaction. The role will be field based (across Staffordshire) therefore you must have own transport.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responding to referrals from schools regarding students with potential additional support needs
  • Conduct observations of students when requested
  • Working closely with the students' support networks (schools, parents, caregivers etc.) to define and implement strategies to enable the development of the student
  • Deliver training to schools focused on managing a variety of SEN needs in the classroom
  • Documenting the work carried out and updating relevant stakeholders both within schools, families and local education authorities
  • Ensuring that the student’s interests and needs are considered at all stages during this process

What we’re looking for:

  • Ideally holds HLTA status with a particular interest in SEMH
  • Could have a track record as a deputy or lead SENCO
  • An excellent track record of providing student support and delivery of significant improvements in quality across educational establishments for SEMH and SEND.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience in behaviour management and supporting pupils with social/emotional/mental health needs.
  • Experience in delivering training
  • Ability to undertake individual pupil assessments.
  • An excellent knowledge of a school environment with evidence of working collaboratively with other agencies in these areas
  • A flexible proactive approach with the ability to work independently and be intrinsically motivated
  • Ability to establish and build positive working relationships at all levels
  • Up to date knowledge of appropriate regulatory frameworks
