Newdigate Primary School & Nursery is seeking to appoint a warm, enthusiastic and well-organised Early Years Educator to join our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as soon as possible. The successful applicant will work across our early years phase including our school nursery.

The Role

You will work closely with classroom teacher(s) to support teaching and learning. You will use your knowledge and skills to carry out specified tasks, while providing high-quality care, guidance and supervision to pupils.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Level 3 Childcare or relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification that meets the requirements of the Government’s Early Years qualification checker.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A positive, proactive and caring attitude
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to support pupils with a range of needs
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in an early years or school setting
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or primary curriculum
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs
