Warwickshire County Council is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Reablement Service as an Apprentice Reablement Assistant. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting people to live independently and wants to develop a career in adult social care. The appointment will cover the whole of Warwickshire. Your base may be the north of the county at Kings House Bedworth or the south of the county at Heathcote House in Leamington Spa. Postholders are expected to travel across the county as required. It is critical that you have the ability to drive and access to a vehicle.
About The Role
As an Apprentice Reablement Assistant you’ll support adults in their own homes within the community, helping them to regain confidence and independence following illness, injury, or hospital discharge. You will work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures, delivering outcome‑focused support plans under the direction of a Reablement Officer or Occupational Therapist. This role combines paid employment (30 hours per week) with training towards the Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is the opportunity to progress into a permanent Reablement Assistant role.
Working Pattern
- 2 weeks of 7 am – 2.30 pm
- 1 week of 2.30 pm – 10 pm
- Including every other weekend and some bank holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals to achieve independence in daily living activities such as personal care, mobility, meal preparation, and confidence building
- Deliver outcome‑focused reablement plans within service guidelines
- Promote dignity, choice, and independence at all times
- Work flexibly across the community, including some evenings and weekends
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues and professionals
