About the role
Warwickshire County Council’s Youth Service is looking for a Youth Work Trainee to support and develop into a JNC‑qualified youth worker.
The position is a two‑year fixed‑term contract, fully funded through the Council and supports completion of a part‑time postgraduate qualification in youth work.
Key responsibilities
- Work four days a week delivering 1:1 support, group sessions, street‑based youth work and youth club provision.
- Spend one dedicated study day per week to support academic learning.
- Participate in the full course programme, including Saturday sessions and an introductory weekend at the University.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with safeguarding and welfare protocols.
- Support the integration of Families First teams and build partnerships with local services, Health, Police and Education.
Qualifications and experience
- Undergraduate degree.
- Minimum 200 hours of relevant youth work (or similar) experience with 11‑19 year olds.
- Successful candidates must secure placement on the identified postgraduate course.
- Strong communication skills and ability to speak accurate spoken English (Fluency Duty).
