Overview
Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an outstanding individual to join our senior leadership team as the Associate Director for Law & Governance. This high-impact, high-profile role is central to the Council\’s improvement journey, focusing on upholding the highest standards of governance and championing continuous improvement. You will drive strategic and operational change, and work closely with Directors and Group Directors in managing legal, governance, and information services.
Salary: £92,995 – £104,484

Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational and tactical leadership across legal services, constitutional governance, data protection, and information governance.
- Support the Monitoring Officer in fulfilling statutory duties, be the deputy Monitoring Officer and uphold the highest standards of lawful and ethical decision-making.
- Lead the management and delivery of accessible, timely legal and governance advice to members and officers.
- Drive transformation through innovative solutions, technology integration, and modernised working practices aligned with the Council’s new operating model.
- Collaborate closely with procurement and commissioning teams to ensure best value and robust governance.
- Manage budgets, ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and contribute to corporate resilience and business continuity.
