Overview

Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCo) at The Oval School, Whittington Oval, Yardley, Birmingham, West Midlands, B33 8JG. This senior leadership position carries strategic responsibility for leading and developing inclusive practice across the school.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the provision for pupils with SEND, ensuring high-quality teaching, effective use of resources and excellent outcomes for all learners.
  • Work closely with the Headteacher, leadership team, staff and parents to drive improvement and shape the future direction of inclusion at The Oval School.

Safeguarding and Recruitment

  • In line with Safer Recruitment Practice, a minimum of two references will be sought for shortlisted candidates prior to interview; one reference must be the candidate’s current or most recent employer.
  • The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults through its safer recruitment processes; an enhanced DBS check will be required for this post.
  • As part of due diligence, an online search will be carried out for all shortlisted candidates.
  • The post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016); the ability to speak fluent and written English is an essential requirement.
