The Role
Adult Social Care in Worcestershire is changing – be part of our transformation journey! We have a number of exciting opportunities (both full time and part time) for Approved Mental Health Professionals to join our recently redesigned, dedicated AMHP hub serving the community of Worcestershire.
We welcome applications from qualified AMHPs whose professional background is not necessarily a social work qualification. We are seeking highly motivated, flexible individuals with a proven track record and experience of AMHP practice, and a highly competent level of skill in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Applicants will need to hold an acknowledged Approved Mental Health Professionals qualification and have evidence of 18 hours continued professional development over the previous 12 months. Applicants will have 2 years minimum AMHP experience or dedicated AMHP hub experience previously.
Applicants are expected to hold high professional standards and act as a role model for the values and behaviours expected of the AMHP role, supporting the development of the AMHP service, and undertaking duties expected of AMHPs in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework and AMHP competencies. We are seeking highly motivated, flexible individuals with a proven track record and experience of AMHP practice, along with a highly competent level of skill in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
To be successful, applicants should demonstrate an extensive understanding of the legislation governing the AMHP role (Mental Health Act, The Care Act, and the Mental Capacity Act). They will collaborate closely with partner agencies, including Herefordshire & Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, which provides specialist mental health services.
Successful applicants will join a dedicated AMHP hub that operates 24/7 (including Bank Holidays), providing a service to Worcestershire and working 37 hours (full time) across a shift pattern of days and nights: Early 8:00–19:00, Late 11:00–22:00, and Night 21:30–08:30.
In return, we offer a highly competitive salary, opportunities for progression, and excellent training including a thorough induction linked to the AMHP role and professional development plans. You will receive professional supervision alongside regular team reflective meetings and bi-monthly AMHP development forums. You will join a team of motivated, dedicated, and supportive colleagues. Worcestershire offers flexible and mobile working, with supporting technology, enabling you to work from a range of office bases, touch points, and home.
