Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting a fixed term apprentice Teaching Assistant at Marston Green Junior School. This role is for 30 hours (full-time): Monday – Friday, term time only, starting from April 2026 and lasting for 18 months in line with the duration of the apprenticeship.
Apprenticeship will be delivered through Heart of England. Candidates must have achieved maths and English at Level 2 prior to completion of the course. This can be completed alongside the apprenticeship if needed, upon discussion with the school.
What are we looking for:
- A motivated practitioner with high expectations for all pupil groups, including those with EHCP/SEND.
- A caring individual willing to ‘go the extra mile’ for our pupils and develop an understanding of specific SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, PDA, and SEMH.
- A willingness to support pupils with an Educational and Health Care Plan (EHCP) to achieve their targets.
- An ability to establish positive relationships with staff and pupils while supporting English and Mathematical skills, promoting positive behaviour, and helping develop pupils’ social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Excellent oral, written, and mathematical skills, with effective communication abilities with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Someone who can use initiative as well as being a good team member.
