Do you have a genuine passion for leading and nurturing young learners, coupled with proven experience managing a nursery effectively? WMC Training is seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join the professional, rewarding, and supportive team at a nursery based in Kent, Edenbridge (TN8 5AL). This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery and maintaining the delivery of high standards of care and education to all children.

The ideal candidate will bring previous experience working with children, a genuine interest in developing the talent of younger generations, and a strong desire to make a difference in children's lives. Holding a Level 2 in childcare is a must. You will be a collaborative team member, equally capable of taking initiative, and adept at planning enriching activities. The nursery offers part-time and full-time opportunities and provides staff with in-house training.

Duties:
  • To effectively deliver the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interests of children in the setting are met (in conjunction with other team members).
  • To keep records of your key children’s development and learning journeys and share with parents, carers, and other key adults in the child’s life.
  • Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
  • To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needs.
  • To ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children having an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures, and medical histories.
  • To advise manager/deputy of any concerns, e.g. over children, parents, the safety of the environment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
  • To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, summer fayre, etc.
  • To be flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Minimum full and relevant Level 2 Early Years qualification.
  • Paediatric First Aid.
  • Ability to write clear objective observations.
