We are seeking two Procurement Category Administrators to help drive a fast‑paced, efficient and compliant tendering programme. In this role, you’ll work at the centre of our procurement function, collaborating with stakeholders across all Directorates and the Department for Transport. You’ll play an active part in key meetings and help strengthen governance and policy compliance across our organisation. Hybrid working from our Birmingham Head Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide core administrative support, including minute‑taking, data entry, scheduling and document management.
- Support procurement exercises by maintaining compliant audit trails and accurate records.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and maintain supplier and contract databases to ensure compliance and performance.
- Manage purchase orders and supplier information in the e‑procurement system, and support colleagues with procurement processes.
- Contribute to sustainable procurement and uphold organisational policies, governance standards and accreditation requirements.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience in a procurement environment with the ability to manage end‑to‑end processes.
- Able to meet multiple deadlines under pressure while maintaining high‑quality work and service.
- Strong communicator and collaborative team player, confident working with varied stakeholders.
- Skilled in governance frameworks and ICT systems, including e‑procurement and Microsoft tools.
- Flexible, adaptable, and confident, with a willingness to take on new tasks.
To ensure continuity and an effective delivery of service, successful candidates will be required to commit to a minimum 14-month period in role after achieving competence. This also includes existing colleagues who move by internal promotions and transfers. This time allows our future colleagues to support personal career development by allowing time to build strong knowledge and expertise.
