About Us

W M Donald Ltd are looking for a reliable Plant Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an efficient and cost-effective plant and equipment administration system. This includes ensuring that company and hired plant, and equipment operated by employees and sub-contractors complies with legislation and client specifications/requirements. Compliance with the Company Standards of Service and quality systems is essential to meet the requirements of the company business plan(s).

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking calls from site for plant requirements and assisting in any queries relating to lead times.
  • Raising and placing plant orders.
  • The efficient, effective control and monitoring, via accurate computerised records using NAV, of all company and hired small plant and specialised equipment to ensure:
  • Traceability
  • Serviceability
  • Ensuring Health and Safety Policies relating to plant equipment are relevant and up to date.
  • Ensuring that plant and equipment comply with current legislation and good practice.
  • Developing, arranging and maintaining systems of work to support the company’s operations.
  • Assisting in the setting up and maintaining of a servicing programme for plant and equipment.
  • Ensuring any plant or equipment that is issued is either fully serviceable, or its limitations are notified to the end user.
  • Ensuring that equipment that has an expired calibration or PAT date is not used to perform tasks.
  • Attending site where necessary to undertake duties.
  • Assisting in controlling site plant levels and processing monthly plant sheets.
  • Assisting in the daily planning of lorry and vehicle assignments in collaboration with Contract Managers to optimise fleet utilisation.
  • Assisting in the ordering and maintaining stock levels of spare and consumable parts.
  • Liaising with other Managers to ensure sufficient plant and equipment is available for company use; surplus hired plant is to be immediately returned.
