We are currently looking for Class 1 Drivers to join our General Haulage team, based out of Preston. We have opportunities to work on Day shift – working either Monday to Friday, Sunday to Thursday – or on Night shift working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Day Shift Pattern (Monday to Friday/Sunday to Thursday)
Weekly Day shift hourly rate of £14.39*
Weekly Night shift hourly rate of £15.94*
*Rates include non-taxable meal allowance of £1.00 payable per hour, payable when in attendance at work.
Night Shift Pattern (4 on 4 off)
Night shift Salary = £37,054.71 per annum*
*Non-taxable meal allowance of £1873 included in above salary detailed. Meal allowance is payable when in attendance at work.
Responsibilities
- Delivering a professional and efficient driving service within our General Haulage team, undertaking deliveries and collections of products on behalf of Wm Armstrong Group.
- All duties associated with being a professional driver.
- Loading/Unloading and securing loads.
- Dealing with customers face to face.
- Keeping in regular contact with transport office team for updates on progress and managing customers expectations.
- Cross cover of work within other areas of the business as required.
Requirements
- Hold a valid UK Class 1 licence.
- Hold a current DCPC card and digital tachograph card.
- Experience and knowledge of the general haulage industry is preferred, but not essential.
- Ability to work unsupervised, or as part of a wider team, and be able to use your own initiative.
