At WM Armstrong, we pride ourselves on our safe working environment, our excellent culture of teamwork and our strong family values. We are currently looking for Class 1 Milk Reload Drivers to join our Milk Operations team, based out of Longtown, working night shift, on a 5 on 3 off shift pattern.

*Rates include non-taxable meal allowance of £1.00 payable per hour, when in attendance at work.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering a professional and efficient driving service within our Milk operations team, delivering milk to dairies throughout England, Wales and Scotland from our depots in Cumbria and Lancashire on milk reload tankers.
  • Following procedures for activities associated with milk collection and delivery to dairies.
  • Following procedures for relevant sampling and checks in line with food safety.
  • Working as part of a team, providing a professional service to our customers.
  • Keeping in regular contact with the office team for updates on status and progress to support in managing customers' expectations.
  • Cross cover of work within other areas of the business as required.

Requirements:

  • Hold a valid UK Class 1 licence.
  • Hold a current DCPC card and digital tachograph card.
  • Experience and knowledge of the milk haulage industry is preferred, but not essential.
  • Ability to work unsupervised, or as part of a wider team, and be able to use your own initiative.
  • To be successful in this role you will be a real team player, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and good geographical knowledge.
