WLP Recruitment is hiring on behalf of a growing enterprise client for a talented Cyber Security Engineer to help strengthen and evolve their cyber defence capabilities. This is a hands-on technical role focused on protecting infrastructure, systems, and data across a complex IT estate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security threats and incidents
- Manage and maintain security tools (e.g. SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners)
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing support
- Implement and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, DLP, and endpoint protection solutions
- Support risk assessments, security audits, and compliance efforts (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.)
- Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and cloud teams to ensure secure system architecture
- Contribute to incident response planning and threat intelligence activities
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years in a cyber security engineering or analyst role
- Strong technical background in infrastructure, networks, and cloud security (Azure/AWS)
- Experience with SIEM platforms (e.g. Splunk, Sentinel), EDR tools, and firewalls
- Understanding of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, etc.)
- Scripting/automation experience (PowerShell, Python) is a plus
- Security certifications preferred (e.g. CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CEH, CISSP)
