Project Coordinator β IT Delivery and Stakeholder Management for NATO with security clearance WLG Northwood, United Kingdom
Projects arrive at a site from all directions, each with its own project manager, budget and deadline, and each needing local people, local kit and local time. This role is the point where that lands: the focal point for every incoming request for support, the person who does the initial analysis on what is feasible, and the one who manages expectations before they become escalations.
It is a coordination post rather than a delivery post, but it carries real responsibility β documentation, risk, quality assurance and representing the unit at working groups and boards.
What you would be doing
- Act as the focal point for incoming queries from external project managers, and analyse what local support, planning and scheduling each one needs.
- Coordinate and facilitate all project-related management activity to the applicable policies and procedures.
- Support project managers in meeting milestones, and support cost, technical and workforce assessments for current and emerging requirements.
- Build and maintain project documentation, version control, agendas, minutes, action trackers and lessons learned.
- Work with the technical coordination officer on assigning technical support, and keep close contact with engineers on other sites.
- Help maintain a portfolio that plans, monitors and controls resources, revenue and capital costs against project budgets.
- Support risk management and advise the lead project managers on it.
- Represent the unit at committees, steering groups, boards, conferences and project working groups.
- Run quality assurance so deliverables meet the agreed standards.
What you would bring
- A bachelor's degree in a related discipline with two years of related experience β or, exceptionally, at least two years of extensive and progressive expertise in the duties of the post.
- Project management experience, typically developing and implementing business processes against identified needs, within agreed cost, timescale and quality.
- Experience defining, documenting and completing small to medium projects.
- Prior work as a project manager: plans, funding estimates, contracting requirements, dayβtoβday direction, reporting and briefing senior stakeholders.
- You have run systems through their whole life, and you are used to squaring what operations and exercises need with what the engineers can build.
The work is full time on site in Northwood, Monday to Friday, 38 hours a week. Remote work is authorised only by exception and with prior approval.
