WJM Professional Services, LLC is a leading healthcare management firm with 20 years of experience providing healthcare personnel and administrative staffing services to government agencies, including the Defense Health Agency, the United States Air Force, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, National Guard, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. We are currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse (RN) at U.S. Coast Guard in Portsmouth, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care at U.S. Coast Guard clinics nationwide.
  • Assess patients and plan nursing interventions.
  • Document all nursing care provided.
  • Educate patients and monitor ongoing care.
  • Support disease management as directed by the Primary Care Manager.
  • Coordinate complex cases with the Nurse Consultant.
  • Coordinate care across multiple partners.
  • Provide nursing triage for acute and emergent issues.
  • Administer medications and IV fluids per provider orders.
  • Prepare patients for surgical or diagnostic procedures.
  • Operate and monitor specialized clinical equipment.
  • Manage medicine and drug stock inventory.
  • Provide ad hoc training to clinic staff.
  • Participate in the clinic's Quality Improvement Program.
  • Support referral management and care coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree from an NCSBN-accredited nursing school.
  • Current, unrestricted RN license (any U.S. state/territory).
  • Current BLS certification.
  • 5 years of nursing experience; 1+ year in ambulatory, family, or internal medicine care.
  • No adverse NPDB information on file.
  • Proof of $1,000,000 malpractice insurance.
  • U.S. citizen or authorized to work full-time in the U.S.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Must pass a NACLC background investigation (HSPD-12).
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical exam.
  • Current on required immunizations (flu, MMR, varicella, Hep B).
  • Able to stand for extended periods and ambulate normally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Meets or exceeds RN industry standards of care.
  • Performs full scope of RN duties on-site using government resources.
